What Took so long?
A church in Dresden, Germany is nearing completion after it was destroyed in....1945?!. The question that popped into my mind when I saw this on the television news was, "What took so long?" Then I remembered it was in Communist East Germany and not subject to any incentive for reconstruction, or resources for the same until after the communists were swept away in the late eighties. War damaged buildings remained standing and unrepaired all over Communist East Germany until the nineties. A testament to the failure of communism.
